International call for artists/photographers

It makes a huge difference whether I carry a camera or not when I go out to a supermarket. When I have a camera, it makes me feel like all the cells in my body are churning and producing bubbles. ¨

INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ARTISTS/PHOTOGRAPHERS
CALLE-DISPOSITIVO-LECTURA TERRITORIAL (STREET, PHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICES AND THE TERRITORIAL READING)

Veronastudio,  with support from the NPO Takaaki KJ Proyectos curatoriales and the artist collective La Carpa, encourages local and international artists to apply for the international call for works  Street, Photographic Devices and the Territorial Reading (provisional title). The exhibition will take place in Bogotá, Colombia from October 14 to November 4, 2022 in Veronastudio gallery.

CURATORIAL OBJECTIVES
Street photography remains an ambiguous practice. Why has the street fascinated so many photographers around the world? Should the word street here be understood as a component of any exisiting public spaces, or rather a concept belonging to the photographers’ collective imagination? Is the street a valid analytical tool, perhaps from an ethnographic perspective? And finally, how has our perception of the street been transformed through the SARS-CoV-2 global pandemic; and what are the new possibilities of photography in the face of these emerging social circumstances? These are some of so many questions with which we are moving forward this exhibition project.
